Au Natural Baby

Hey Guys! Yes I have been on a bit of a shopping rampage recently but in my defence it had been a long time since I had a good wee nosy round Boots to see what I liked the look of. As you can probably guess from the title the 3 things I bought are quite neutral/natural so very school/work appropriate.

First thing is the Seventeen Wild Metallic Eyes in ‘Wild Nude’ now I would have to disagree slightly it’s not nude however it is a beautiful bronze colour with pinkish undertones which I think is absolutely gorgeous! A lot of people have compared these to the Maybelline 24h colour tattoos but again I would disagree as after swatching both in store I would say the Seventeen one feels a lot creamier. I think that this will be great for when school starts back after the summer as I love wearing eye shadow on a daily basis but never seem to find the time in the morning. I also think this would be a great eye shadow base and at £3.99 you can really argue with it!

Next thing I picked up was the Rimmel Scandal Eyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal in the shade ‘Nude’ I had been eyeing this up for a very long time but had never gotten round to buying it. I’m a big fan of white eyeliner on the water line I just feel that it make you look alive and alert while making your eyes look bigger however white can sometimes look a bit harsh for everyday purposes so a nude colour seems to be the better pick. This cost me £3.99 which again I thought was a bargain as it has a nice consistency and really glides on!

And lastly I picked up another BarryM nail paint in ‘Matt White’ this product does what it says, it’s a very nice matte white colour that builds up to an opaque colour in about 2 coats (3 if you paint really thin coats). This could be used to sport the ‘white nail’ trend or to be used to put French tips on a classic manicure.

So these are some of the little treasures I found while having a look around boots. Have you guys got any new found beauty bargains? If so please comment and tell me what they are I love trying new products especially if they are a purse friendly treat!

First Impressions: Eyeko 'Skinny Mini Liquid Eyeliner'

Hey Guys! Me again only this time something a bit different. I've never done a first impressions post before so I thought why not give it a go so I shall cut the babbling and get to the point.
I was having a bit of a nosey in my local supermarket when I spotted glamour magazine now I have to say I'm a bit more of an ELLE girl but when I saw what the free gift was I just had to buy it (that's me a sucker for free gifts). I'd heard quite a bit of hype over the eyeko products via youtube an so forth and I thought for £3.80 (price of the magazine) I might as well see what all the fuss was about.
It is in a pen form which is pretty handy as it means if your in a rush you don't need to waste time re-dipping into the bottle (not that I ever do liquid liner in a rush I am no where near that skilled).
It also is extremely fine which I love! All too often the tip is way to thick and I'm left with an extremely thick line which makes me look quite 'bold' when I was more going for 'understated' and 'classic'.
It is a very pigmented and intense black which is great as you don't have to keep going over and over a line to make it stand out. It also went on quite smoothly without dragging the skin too much.

The liner applied (with flash)

The liner applied (without flash)
As you can see I don't have the 'ideal' eye shape to wear liquid liner however I do feel this liner does help make it a little more feasible for me to sport the cat eyed flick.

Pros
Very fine tip so you can get an accurate and neat flick
Goes on fairly smoothly
Does seem to be holding up well even when my eyes have been watering
Doesn't break the bank (I believe it retails at £8 which isn't much more than say L'Oreal)

Cons
It can feel slightly 'sticky' and 'stiff' when on the eyes
The lid that you have to pull off actually made the pen tip come off which wasn't great (and messy)

So overall not a bad first impression! I will definitely reach for this product next time I want a winged eye look.

Collective Haul: New look, Primark, Boots & Bodycare

Hey Guys! Me again, after not posting for so long I felt like I had to make it up to my blog (hope you all aren't getting sick of me). Today I went on a little shopping trip with my Mum which I actually really enjoyed (not that I don't normally but we were looking for bits of school uniform too which can sometimes lead to arguments over whether that school skirt is really too short!). So we picked up a couple bits and pieces for me which I actually needed (and some I didn't but hey ho that's the beauty of shopping). I can remember the exact order that we went to the shops in but I shall start with new look.
I originally went into new look hoping to find another pair of jeans because I absolutely adore the 'super soft' skinny jeans they sell however I couldn't find any in my size which was a bit of a shame but not all was lost as I then found these little beauties!
I actually found these in the generation 915 section which is their 'kids' section but I think they do up to a size 7 so most would be able to find their size there. I have a pair of ankle boots similar already from new look but the sole has worn down so much it is at major risk of coming away all together. These were on £17.99 (even less with student discount) which I think is a bargain as I've seen similar in paces like topshop for over £30!
Next stop was Primark which I love to pieces and I actually managed to pick up a fair few things there for next to nothing. Again I bought some shoes!
These are so incredibly soft and comfortable it is unreal! So I actually bought a second pair in another colour (bad bad bad I know).
I had been in Clarks earlier and was about to spend £14.99 on a pair of shoes identical to the other two pairs I bought, only these ones were in mint. All I can say is I am so glad they didn't have my size! Because both pairs of the gorgeous shoes out of Primark only cost £4 each!
After my awesome shoe find I went off to see if I could find some PJ bottoms as its been so warm here wearing fleecy ones hasn't really been practical.
I found these beautifully patterned PJ bottoms which I was most impressed with. Both pairs are light and will keep me cool which is a must in this summer heat.
These ones were only £5 which I was pretty impressed with.
And then I saw these ones which were £2 yes guys you read right £2 I could not believe it!
Next was boots where I got some 'Soap and Glory' mini products which are just adorable and pretty cheap as they were on a 3 for 2 offer which meant they didn't break the bank at all 3 for £5! I love soap and glory (you can read my review-ish thing about peaches and clean HERE) and I think when traveling there is nothing better than so cute mini products.

And finally from Bodycare I got some small bottles of shampoo & conditioner (250ml but the packaging was compact) and they were 99p each. Now I actually had to hunt high and low for small bottles of shampoo and conditioner because I didn't want minis (they were too small) but I didn't want massive big bottles taking up tonnes of room in my suitcase. And a travel sized batiste (the tropical one smells amazing!) which was £1.59 I think. So all in all I felt it was a pretty successful shopping trip. I actually picked up a few other bits and pieces but I'm saving them to show you at a later date for a special reason.
I hope to carry on posting this regularly so Catchya Later DaisyAndMints x

Summer time Manicure

Hey Guys! Today I decided to give myself a bit of a treat and paint my nails, something I neglect way too much. The reason being that I'm way too impatient to wait for them to dry! And then I always end up smudging the nails and to be honest it always seems more hassle that its worth. Don't get me wrong I love nail varnish (I have my top 5 Spring nail varnishes HERE so go check that out) but the effort sometimes is just too much.
I know that I'm not the neatest at painting nails but appreciate the effort (I even filed and shaped my nails)
So this colour was actually in my Spring nail varnish thing but it's a colour that easily transitions into the Summer and being that classic hot pink it goes with anything really. Secondly I absolutely love BarryM nail varnishes they are AMAZING I mean to the point of getting an opaque colour in 2 coats (sometimes even 1 depending on the colour) and they dry so quickly so I don't have to sit there waving my hands about like a maniac trying to get my nails to dry. So high praises to BarryM you guys know how to make a nail varnish!
What's your favourite brand of nail varnish?

'Get To Know Me' TAG

Hey guys hope you are all well! Today I thought I'd do more of a fun 'TAG' post thing (its not really a tag because I wasn't tagged to do it by anyone I just decided to do it oh well). I was just thinking that you guys don't really know all that much about me, I have done a 25 facts about me before but I didn't think anyone would mind if I did this tag as well so without further ado.

1. Are you named after anyone? I don't think I am, my dad chose my name and said it was because he liked the sound of it so I assume that someone had the same name and he thought 'oh I like that name' but there wasn't anyone in particular.

2. When was the last time you cried? Hmmm I don't actually know, sorry for the rubbish answer guys.

3. Do you have kids? No.

4. If you were another person would you be friends with yourself? I would like to think so.

5. Do you use sarcasm a lot? Unfortunately way too much though I'm careful to only use it around people who know me well enough to know I mean nothing bad by it.

6. Will you ever bungee jump? I would say no because I don't find that sort of thing fun or exhilarating and I read into the risks of it far too much. Also my brother told me once that the change in pressure or something can make your head explode (no idea how much truth there is to that he was probably just trying to scare me).

7. What is your favourite cereal? Wheetoes (If you don't know what they are they're like chocolate fruit loops)

8. What is the first thing you notice about other people? Probably how tall they are being quite short everyone is like a giant to me.

9. What is your eye colour? Blue.

10. Scary movie or happy ending? Definitely happy ending.

11. Favourite smells? Roast potatoes cooking, fresh cut grass, camp fire smoke & DKNY be delicious green apple.

12. Summer or Winter? Winter! I love Christmas and everything to do with the festive season from the dark vampy lipstick to the cosy winter jumpers and boots to hot chocolate to wrapping presents it is honestly bliss.

13. Computer or television? We're asking a blogger here! It will always be computer.

14. What's the furthest you have ever been from home? That would be either France or Belgium.

15. Do you have any special talents? People tell me I'm really good at baking and I enjoy it so its always good to do well at something you enjoy.

16. Where were you born? Scotland.

17. What are your hobbies? Well makeup would be one whether that's putting on or collecting it. I also love baking as I said in question 15.

18. Do you have any pets? Nope have never ever had one ever.

19. Favourite movie? Bridget Jones's Diary! It's the best movie of all time and you should all go watch it now if you've never seen it! Even if you have go watch it again because it's that good!

20. Do you have any siblings? Yes I do, one older brother.

21. What do you want to be when you grow up? Either a dietician or something to do with food design. There is always going to be a part of me that would love to be a makeup artist but I think my passion for baking and cooking might always be that bit stronger no matter how much I love beauty and makeup.

So that is my 21 get to know me questions complete and I hope you've enjoyed finding out some 'interesting' facts about me. Now down to the tagging of people (yay) now of course anyone reading this can do it because I tag all of you but to mention some names,

There is just a few blogs that I really enjoy reading but as I said all are welcome to do it as I TAG ALL OF YOU!

It's Back And It's Still Awesome: Soap and Glory Peaches And Clean

It's back in stock YAY! I am a huge fan of the 'Soap and Glory Peaches and Clean Cleanser' for many reasons one being its versatility. As you can imagine when I couldn't repurchase it at any boots (I tried about 8 different ones on my many travels) I was distraught. I was beginning to think that they really had discontinued it but I finally tracked it down while on holiday in Yorkshire.

This is one of those face washes that can sort out any skin disaster whether that be breakouts or scaring (well on my face it does) and I will use it as a cleanser and a mask. I discovered this after 'Miss Budget Beauty' (go check out her videos she is awesome) raved so much about it. I eventually got it at Christmas time 2012 and saw a massive improvement in my skin. Not only does it remove makeup amazingly it also makes your face so smooth. So all in all I'm an extremely happy blogger at the moment.
On to something completely different, those of you who read my blog regularly or who have visited it before might have noticed that the design keeps changing. I'm really sorry if this is confusing you or just annoying you that I can't make up my mind what I want my blog to look like but I'm still hunting for the perfect look for my blog which I will love and hopefully you guys will too :)

Review: Schwarzkopf "Beach Matt Mermaid Look Texturizing Salt Spray"

Hello everybody! So today I'm bring you a review on the Schwarzkopf beach matt salt spray. I'm sure many of you are enjoying the summer weather and like me enjoy having the messy beach waves. After searching different ways to give my hair texture and wave one of the best seemed to be using a salt spray. Now many you tubers rave about different brands however when I looked them up they always seemed a bit extortionate for what they were so when I found this one for under £3 there was nothing really to lose by trying it. A bit of background, my hair is incredibly fine but there is a lot of it as well as being pretty straight (e.g. if I blow-dry it then it will dry straight but if I sleep on if then I will wake up with it fairly wavy) and this did a pretty decent job of giving that 'holiday beach hair'.
To use it I simply sprayed it into dry hair and then scrunched which then left me with texturized wavy hair. It does live up to its claim of being matt but unfortunately does leave my hair feeling kind of sticky which I didn't particularly like however I could cope with it as apart from the stickiness it did give me the desired effect.

So over all I do enjoy this product and would give it a 6/10. The main reasons for this are; the value for money, not drying out my hair, and overall giving me a good result. It looses points as; it makes my hair feel a bit sticky, it doesn't have the longest lasting power (after about 6 hours the waves fall) and the sent its not too offensive but its not my cup of tea.
I hope you all enjoyed this review and are having a great week. Catchya Later DaisyAndMints.x

Summer Could Be The Best Season

Hands up if you're a terrible blogger (Daisy raises her hand) yes I've been awful at blogging for the past month but alas I have returned which I hope you are all pleased about. I don't know if the rest of the UK has been having the lovely weather Scotland has been but if it has then we are all very lucky. This lovely weather meant that the start of my summer holiday has been amazing as I've been able to lounge about soaking up the glorious sun. So a little life update I've been on my family holiday down to Yorkshire (pictures to follow) which was amazing it really is beautiful down there. I've also finished school for the year and this will be my last summer holiday as a school pupil because next year it will be the summer between high school and university (scary stuff I know) but this means that there will be a lot more time dedicated to my blog and I'm hoping to update a fair bit in the 7 weeks to come. That's really all I have to say boring right! But I hope you are all well and I look forward to being able to update more regularly :) Catchya Later DaisyAndMints x
